Flow forming is an innovative forming technology of seamless, tubular components. The tooling is being brought to rotation with a work piece and is being loaded with three rollers so that the material can flow in axial direction. Thus a long thin-walled tube, which is being characterized by an improved surface and a very high precision, is being produced of a short thick-walled tube.
Advantages of flow forming in comparison to conventional methods:
- short delivery times
- extremely well inner surfaces
- high dimensional accuracy grades of parts
- optimal grain structure
- conical/ weaned wall thicknesses possible
- manufacturing of parts with integrated flange
- significantly enhanced mechanical properties
- attractive prices even for small and middle sized batches
- a wide range of materials even hardened steels and titanium
- a high diameter-to-length ratio
Production possibilities:
- round hollows bodies Ø 25 – 650 mm
- length up to 6500 mm
- wall thickness 0,15 – 20 mm
